Description
WHAT DO WE SOLVE IN OUR POULTRY SUBFARM PROGRAM?
1. Reduce Stress from Transportation
Long-distance transportation can be extremely stressful for chickens, often affecting their health and quality. By establishing subfarms in multiple regions, we minimize the distance chickens need to travel, thereby reducing stress and ensuring better animal welfare.
2. Lower Shipping Costs Across Major Islands
Shipping chickens from Luzon to Visayas or Mindanao can be costly and logistically challenging. With regional subfarms, we reduce these expenses, enabling more efficient and affordable transport within each island group.
3. Reduce Environmental Impact of Long-Distance Shipping
Transporting poultry over long distances requires significant fuel and logistics, contributing to a larger carbon footprint. By establishing subfarms closer to demand areas, we can reduce emissions and create a more environmentally sustainable operation.
4. Provide Market Opportunities for Smallholder Farmers
Smallholder chicken farmers often face challenges in accessing reliable markets. Through our subfarm system, these farmers gain the opportunity to sell their produce when there’s customer demand in their region. This setup allows Alpha Agventure Farms to serve as a “buyer on standby,” purchasing from them when demand aligns, offering a flexible market option to support their business.
5. Educate Farmers in Accounting and Marketing
Many smallholder and backyard farmers lack essential knowledge in basic accounting and marketing, which are crucial for managing their businesses effectively. Our program addresses this need by providing educational support, empowering farmers with the skills they need to succeed.
6. Enhance Food Security and Availability in Remote Areas
Some regions experience limited access to fresh poultry due to logistical challenges and long shipping distances. By establishing subfarms closer to these areas, we can improve local food availability, ensuring fresher products reach communities that might otherwise face shortages.
7. Strengthen Community Resilience in Times of Crisis
Natural disasters and supply chain disruptions can hinder access to essential food supplies in remote areas. By establishing regional subfarms, we create decentralized sources of poultry that remain accessible during crises, supporting local food security and community resilience.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I use your Rhode Island Reds and Black Australorps as breeders?
Yes, of course. The cockerels and pullets are not more closely related than five degrees of consanguinity to avoid inbreeding depression.
Do you deliver anywhere in the Philippines?
We deliver anywhere in the Philippines at the buyer’s expense. When you check out your order, you’ll see a GET SHIPPING QUOTE button, which you can click to request a shipping quotation.
When can I pick up my order after placing it?
Packages are available for pickup 90 to 180 days after payment. This lead time accommodates the current influx of applications to join our poultry subfarm program.
Will you teach me how to raise Black Australorps and Rhode Island Reds?
Yes, through our chicken farming seminar. The package includes access to all three modules of the seminar.
Do you guarantee that you will buy all my produce?
We buy based on demand in your region. Participation in our Poultry Subfarm Program does not guarantee consistent or recurring purchases. Alpha Agventure Farms is under no obligation to buy your produce at any specific frequency.
Given that there’s no guarantee you’ll purchase all of my produce, what are the benefits of joining your Poultry Subfarm Program?
By joining our Poultry Subfarm Program, you gain a “buyer on standby” in Alpha Agventure Farms. While we don’t promise to buy all your produce, we’ll step in and purchase from you when there’s customer demand in your region. We handle the entire process, communicating directly with our customers and sourcing from the nearest subfarm—yours, if you’re the closest.
This system reduces the stress and costs of long-distance transport for your poultry, giving you a competitive edge in local markets. Additionally, our program provides resources and support in areas like basic accounting and marketing, helping you manage your farm more efficiently and build a stronger business. By participating, you help boost local food security and support the regional economy—all while keeping Alpha Agventure Farms as a reliable sales channel when demand aligns.
How long will it take to see a Return on Investment (ROI) from joining the Poultry Subfarm Program?
The Return on Investment (ROI) for joining the Poultry Subfarm Program can vary based on factors like demand in your area, production costs, and farm management. Since Alpha Agventure Farms acts as a “buyer on standby,” purchase frequency depends on regional demand, so ROI timelines differ for each participant.
However, the program is designed to support you long-term by reducing transport costs and stress on animals, creating opportunities for local sales when demand aligns, and providing guidance on business skills like accounting and marketing. This approach helps build a sustainable operation, although ROI timelines will depend on individual circumstances.
How much will I earn from this program?
Your profit will range between 10 to 50 percent. We will discuss your projected profit and expenses in detail, either in person or via Zoom.
Is it mandatory to purchase every item included in each package? For example, if I already have Black Australorps, Rhode Island Reds, or an incubator, can those be excluded from the package?
Purchasing the full package is required. This ensures that both the chickens and the incubator meet Alpha Agventure Farms’ quality standards, helping maintain the consistency and reliability of our program.
How does Alpha Agventure Farms prevent oversaturation of poultry subfarms in each region?
We limit the number of poultry subfarms to 1 to 3 per region across the Philippines. Additional subfarms may only be established if regional demand clearly supports the need for more than three, ensuring a balanced market and sustainable growth for our subfarm participants.
Will Alpha Agventure Farms open another slot for a poultry subfarm in a region if one of the existing subfarms fails to meet the standards?
Yes, we will. We have a one-strike policy in place. If a poultry subfarm fails to meet Alpha Agventure Farms’ standards, they must correct the issue and do their best not to commit the same mistake within the same year. The evaluation resets at midnight on January 1st.
